The two KSU leaders were called to appear before the police at around 11 am on September 3 in connection with the locking of a temple at Mawdiangdiang in New Shillong.
According to sources, Kharbani and Rynghang were questioned by the police after appearing at the station.
However, more than four hours after they appeared before the police, sources said that the two leaders were taken into custody.
