Due to detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts in the house of Ladatngen Nongrum at Jaiaw Mihngi, Shillong and in the house of C. Phira at Mission Compound, Shillong which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 19th November, 2020 has declared the above mentioned houses as micro containment areas so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site with effect from 19th November, 2020.
The orders state that no persons are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within the containment areas shall not move out and shall strictly remain inside their home.
The Incident Commander, Zone – IV, Shillong shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders.
Any violation of the orders will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
