SHILLONG, JAN 9:
A Meghalaya man who was reported missing for several days has been found safe in Tamil Nadu, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Bengaluru Unit confirmed on Friday.
The individual, Chaltbha Muksor, a resident of Lad Rymbai in East Jaintia Hills district, had left his village on January 2, 2026, to travel to Bengaluru in search of employment. He lost contact with his family after his last known location at Jolarpettai Junction Railway Station, Tamil Nadu, on January 5, 2026.
Following information received from the KSU West Jaintia Hills Unit and Muksor’s family, the KSU Bengaluru Unit launched a search operation, circulating posters and missing alerts through social media platforms.
Confirming his recovery, Donboklang Nongphud, President of the KSU Bengaluru Unit, said the Krishnagiri Police Station informed them that Muksor had been found injured and admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Krishnagiri.
“We immediately arranged transportation and went to Krishnagiri to ensure his safety and well-being,” Nongphud said.
Muksor, who sustained a leg injury, is currently under the care of the KSU Bengaluru Unit. The organisation expressed gratitude to the Krishnagiri Police, hospital authorities, and members of the public who assisted in tracing him.
“We appreciate the prompt response and cooperation of the SP and SI of Krishnagiri Police Station, as well as the hospital authorities,” Nongphud added, urging the public to stop circulating the earlier missing person alert and to share the updated information instead.
