SHILLONG : In a proud moment for Meghalaya, Shillong’s own Phoebe Dale Nongrum has secured the Women’s Vice Champion title in the prestigious Blueband FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) Season 2025-26.
Nongrum achieved the milestone after delivering a strong podium finish at the Rally of Maharashtra held in Nashik, capping off an impressive season marked by determination and consistency.
Competing across all six rounds of the championship, the Shillong-based rally driver showcased her skill on varied terrains ranging from challenging tarmac tracks to demanding gravel stages. Her consistent performances throughout the season proved crucial in securing the overall vice champion position.
Reflecting on her journey, Nongrum said that every round tested their endurance and strategy. She emphasized that maintaining consistency across different racing conditions was the key to her success this season.
The Meghalaya Motorsports Society congratulated her achievement, describing it as an inspiration for aspiring racers in the state. Society President Easter Giselle Kharkongor stated that Nongrum’s performance reflects the growing strength of grassroots motorsport in Meghalaya and highlights what dedication and perseverance can achieve.
Officials noted that her success marks a significant milestone not only for women competitors but also for motorsport development in the Northeast region.
