SHILLONG : Posters featuring Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong and East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem have appeared on walls at various locations across Shillong.
The posters were put up by unidentified persons, with the identity of those behind the act remaining unknown.
The development comes two days after the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) publicly raised allegations of illegal money collection by police personnel from trucks at Mawkhanu and Thangshalai.
The KSU had brought the allegations into the public domain following its exposure of alleged money collection during police checking of trucks at the two locations.
The appearance of the posters across Shillong has since drawn attention, coming shortly after the KSU raised the allegations concerning the police checks.
However, it remains unclear who put up the posters or what prompted the individuals to display them across the city.
