NONGPOH : The Ri-Bhoi District Police have appointed a Nodal Officer to receive and address complaints and difficulties faced by tourist taxi drivers from Meghalaya while travelling through the district.
Ri-Bhoi Superintendent of Police has issued an order appointing SI Deepak Thapa, Liaison Officer, as the Nodal Officer to receive complaints and grievances from tourist taxi drivers who face any difficulties within Ri-Bhoi district.
Tourist taxi drivers can contact SI Deepak Thapa on 84149 44910 to report any problems or grievances.
The police have also advised commercial vehicle drivers to contact the Police Control Room, Nongpoh, which operates 24 hours a day, at 69093 00160 if they face any difficulty that needs to be brought to the attention of the police.
The order will come into effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.
According to the police, the move has been taken to ensure the safety of the public in Ri-Bhoi district and to prevent any disruption to the movement of vehicles.
