SHILLONG, JAN 26: The High Court of Meghalaya celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India on Monday with a solemn and vibrant programme held within its premises.
The National Flag was hoisted by the Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, Justice Revati Prashant Mohite Dere, in the presence of Justice H.S. Thangkhiew, Justice W. Diengdoh, Justice Biswadeep Bhattacharjee, and officers and staff of the High Court.
Following the flag hoisting ceremony, a cultural programme was organised at the Auditorium, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Meghalaya. Artists from various parts of the state presented traditional performances, including Shad Mastieh, Wangala Dance, and Shad Pliang, which were well received by the audience.
The programme also featured a song performance by an Advocate of the High Court of Meghalaya, along with a cultural presentation by the Khmieh Creative Society, adding colour and vibrancy to the celebrations.
The Republic Day observance reflected the High Court’s respect for constitutional values and its commitment to celebrating India’s democratic spirit.
