The Meghalaya state BJP led by State President Shri Ernest Mawrie organised a protest against the
atrocities being committed by TMC terrorists against the BJP and BJP supporters in West Bengal.
Almost 2.28 Crore people, citizens of India, voted for the BJP in the recently concluded assembly
elections in West Bengal. However, and shocking so, as soon as results were announced and it
became clear that the TMC would be forming the next government there, TMC gundas with the
support and protection of state machinery began an onslaught against BJP karyakartas. Party offices
are being burnt, and karayakartas and supporters are being fatally beaten up even as we write this
report.
The BJP Meghalaya Pradesh through their protest have expressed solidarity with the BJP family of
West Bengal. We also strongly demand that President’s Rule should be immediately imposed in that
state so as to bring the law and order under control and protect the people from the brutal
dictatorship of the present dispensation. We have also expressed our shock at the complete absence
of other political parties in raising their voice against the atrocities in West Bengal. These parties,
who took to the streets at the drop of a hat in states that are governed by BJP, are maintaining a
sinister silence. It seems like they affirm to the brutal and inhuman treatment being met out to BJP
workers in West Bengal. We condemn the action (or inaction) of the TMC government and the
silence of other political parties in the strongest words. President’s Rule is the only way of saving
Indians in West Bengal.
