Ri-Bhoi : Lahkmen Rymbui, Education Minister of Meghalaya, attended the 8th North East Graduate Congress 2026 held at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya, alongside Timothy D. Shira, Sosthenes Sohtun, Mayralborn Syiem, the Vice Chancellor of USTM, and students from across the Northeast region.
The North East Graduate Congress 2026 is a three-day youth-centric academic, cultural, and sporting event organized by USTM, aimed at bringing together undergraduate students from across Northeast India. The Congress serves as a platform to foster talent, strengthen regional integration, and nurture leadership while enabling interaction with academic and industry experts. The event features competitions spanning literary, cultural, creative, sports, and innovation categories.
Addressing the gathering, Lahkmen Rymbui emphasized the importance of such initiatives in ensuring the holistic development of students. He stated that platforms like the North East Graduate Congress 2026 play a crucial role in nurturing young minds and providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents and capabilities.
Highlighting the significance of cultural exchange, the Minister noted that the second day of the Congress, dedicated to cultural presentations, celebrates the rich traditions and diverse identities of the Northeast.
