NONGPOH : The newly formed Ri Bhoi Archery Association (RBAA) is set to send 18 archers to compete in the Meghalaya State Archery Championship 2026, scheduled to be held in Shillong from August 10 to 14.
The championship will be organised at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) ground in Shillong and will bring together archers from across Meghalaya.
The Ri Bhoi Archery Association, which recently received recognition as an affiliated association of the Meghalaya Archery Association, has taken the initiative to provide young archers from Ri Bhoi with an opportunity to showcase their talent at the state level.
Speaking to the media, RBAA president Bah Sumarlang Swer said the association is committed to creating opportunities for archers from Ri Bhoi to compete with athletes from different parts of the state.
He said a total of 18 male and female archers, comprising participants from both the Junior and Senior categories, will represent Ri Bhoi at the championship.
The participation is expected to provide valuable competitive exposure to the archers and help promote the sport further in Ri Bhoi.
