SHILLONG : Two leaders of the FKJGP Shillong City, identified as Saimon Myrtong, President of the Nongmynsong Circle, and Gary Thangkhiew, Assistant Organising Secretary of the Mawlai Circle, were summoned by police at the Sadar Police Station on Monday.
The summons is in connection with allegations that the two leaders had assaulted a teacher of the Time Coaching Centre, located at Laitumkhrah. The incident reportedly took place in March 2025.
Speaking to the media, Chief Organising Secretary of the FKJGP Central Executive Committee (CEC), Khrawkupar Nongsiej, stated that the police action is linked to a separate complaint involving two Khasi women students enrolled at the Time Coaching Centre.
According to Nongsiej, the two students had alleged that they were physically manhandled by a teacher of the coaching centre. After receiving information about the incident from the families of the students, members of the FKJGP approached the Director of the Time Coaching Centre to discuss the matter and seek clarification.
However, instead of a discussion to resolve the issue, Nongsiej claimed that the FKJGP members were summoned by the police, raising questions over the handling of the matter.
