WEST JAIÑTIA HILLS : A government Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number ML 01 6416 was allegedly set on fire by unidentified miscreants at Mookynphad Mihmyntdu in West Jaintia Hills district in the early hours of Friday.
The incident took place at around 1:40 am, when unidentified persons allegedly set the government vehicle on fire.
Local residents immediately alerted the fire and emergency services after noticing the vehicle engulfed in flames.
Firefighters reached the spot and brought the fire under control. However, the intense flames severely damaged and completely charred the front portion of the vehicle.
The incident has been reported to the police, and further investigation is expected to establish the circumstances behind the arson and identify those responsible.
