NONGSTOIN : Two government vehicles were set on fire by unidentified miscreants while they were parked at designated parking areas in Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills district, on Friday.
The vehicles targeted were a police Gypsy bearing registration number ML 01 6963 and a Bolero bearing registration number ML 01 4130.
Police said a case has been registered and efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the arson.
The incident in Nongstoin occurred on the same day as similar incidents were reported from Shillong and West Jaintia Hills, where a motorcycle in Malki and another government vehicle were allegedly set on fire by miscreants.
The incidents have raised concerns amid heightened tensions and security measures across the state.
