A 45 year old man was found dead inside a car parked near Lay-bye Market Umrangksai on Tuesday morning. The deceased identified as Shemphang Thangkhiew from Pahambir Ri-Bhoi District.
As per information received Shemphang Thangkhiew is a local taxi driver from Nongpoh to Byrnihat returned from the association picnic yesterday with his friends from Mawkhla and on reaching Nongpoh at around 7 pm he call his family asking him to buy vegetables which is the last conversation with him. His family tried to connect him through phone after a long waiting but they cannot reach him and nobody knows his whereabouts.
It is this morning; the shop keepers at Lay Bye Market found a man inside a car (local taxi) suspected him dead, the Police of Nongpoh PS reached the spot after alerted by the local people to conduct the inquiry where they found that he was already dead and the body was very cold suspected of ill effects and the police did the necessary formalities, the body was taken to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for Post Mortem and post mortem was exempted after pleading by the family and the body was handed over to the family.
