SHILLONG : The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the electoral rolls has officially commenced across Meghalaya, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) beginning door-to-door distribution of Enumeration Forms from June 30.
Chief Electoral Officer Dr. BDR Tiwari said the exercise is aimed at ensuring that every eligible voter is included in the electoral roll while removing ineligible entries, making the voters’ list accurate and up to date ahead of the next elections.
According to the CEO, voters are not required to submit any supporting documents while filling up the Enumeration Form. A recent passport-sized photograph will be sufficient for the process.
Electors also have the option to complete the Enumeration Form online through the ECINET App or the Voter Services Portal, making the revision process more convenient.
Dr. Tiwari urged all eligible voters to extend full cooperation to the BLOs during their household visits, fill in the forms carefully, and submit them within the prescribed deadline.
He said public participation is crucial to ensuring that Meghalaya’s electoral rolls remain complete, accurate and error-free before the upcoming elections.
The Election Commission has appealed to all residents to cooperate with election officials and complete the verification process on time to avoid any inconvenience during future elections.
