SHILLONG : Nangkiew Irat secured their first win of the Shillong Premier League 2026 season with a 2-0 victory over Laitkor at the SSA Stadium on Tuesday.
After a goalless first half, Nangkiew Irat broke the deadlock in the 67th minute when Ronaldkydon L Nonglait produced a superb left-footed finish from outside the box to beat Laitkor goalkeeper Deranius Wahlang.
Laitkor had opportunities in the first half, with Kitdor Kharphuli twice seeing his efforts blocked following a corner, while Shelbilkstar Kharshilot also came close.
Nangkiew Irat pushed forward after the break, with substitute Yhoto Lohe forcing a strong save from Deranius before Ronaldkydon finally opened the scoring.
Laitkor tried to find an equaliser but struggled to create clear chances in the second half.
Nangkiew Irat sealed all three points in stoppage time when Jefferson Pakyntein finished expertly after receiving a fine through ball from Wallamsuk Nongkhlaw in the 90th minute plus four.
The victory takes Nangkiew Irat’s points tally forward after their previous draw against Nongkseh, while Laitkor suffered a setback after their previous win over Mylliem.
