SHILLONG : Miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the Nongmensong Police Outpost in Shillong on Thursday night, police said.
The incident occurred between 9 pm and 9.30 pm, a senior police officer confirmed.
No casualties were reported in the attack, the officer said.
Police are registering a case and have launched an investigation to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
The attack comes amid heightened tension in Shillong following violence during the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) bike rally on August 19.
Police are continuing efforts to maintain security in sensitive areas of the city and prevent further incidents of violence.
