Škoda Auto India has officially inaugurated its first-ever dealership in Shillong, marking the automobile brand’s entry into the state of Meghalaya for the first time. The new Sales, Service and Spares (3S) facility has been opened at Laitkor Rngi, Shillong, bringing the brand’s full range of vehicles and services closer to customers in the region.
The new dealership has been launched in partnership with SSB Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. and will operate under the dealership name La i Jong Škoda. The facility is designed to provide customers with a complete experience, including vehicle sales, servicing and spare parts.
The showroom includes a 3,000 square-feet sales area capable of displaying up to four vehicles at a time. Alongside the showroom, the service facility covers around 7,250 square feet and is equipped with three service bays to handle maintenance and repair work efficiently.
According to the company, the facility follows Škoda’s Modern Solid global design philosophy, offering a comfortable and premium environment for customers visiting the showroom for purchases or vehicle servicing.
Speaking during the inauguration, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, Ashish Gupta said the company is delighted to establish its first customer touchpoint in Shillong and expand its presence in the North-East region.
He stated that the North-East represents an emerging and promising market for the brand, and expanding the dealership network in the region reflects the company’s commitment to making Škoda vehicles more accessible across India. The new facility will allow customers in Meghalaya to explore the brand’s complete product portfolio, including the Škoda Kylaq, Škoda Kushaq, Škoda Slavia and Škoda Kodiaq.
Dealer Principal of SSB Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., Rakesh Kumar Singh said the company is proud to partner with Škoda Auto India and introduce the brand’s vehicles and services to customers in Meghalaya for the first time.
He added that the new 3S facility has been designed to provide a premium and seamless customer experience, from vehicle purchase to after-sales service.
Over the last few years, Škoda Auto India has significantly expanded its national network from 120 customer touchpoints in 2021 to more than 325 touchpoints across 184 cities in India. The company says it remains focused on strengthening its presence and bringing its products and services closer to customers across the country.
