GUWAHATI : In a glittering celebration of confidence, culture, and contemporary elegance, Stella Rica Khongsni from Meghalaya was crowned as one of the three titleholders of the 22nd Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2026 at a grand finale held in Guwahati.
Alongside her, Leimapokpam Ghanapyari Devi from Manipur and Tenzing Choden Sherpa from Sikkim were also declared winners. In keeping with the pageant’s progressive format, all three winners will share equal honours and responsibilities as titleholders.
The 22nd edition of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East followed an extensive eight-state audition process conducted both offline and online, drawing participation from hundreds of young women across the Northeast. After a rigorous screening process, shortlisted finalists underwent an intensive grooming and mentorship programme in Guwahati before competing in the high-voltage grand finale. Contestants were evaluated on poise, intelligence, personality, confidence, and stage presence.
Conceptualised by fashion entrepreneur Abhijeet Singha, the pageant is produced by Mega Entertainment and marketed by Mega Activation, continuing its longstanding mission of empowering women from the Northeast and taking regional talent to the global stage.
Congratulating the winners, Abhijeet Singha said that twenty-two years of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East stand as a testament to the resilience, ambition, and global readiness of young women from the region. He stated that the three winners represent not just beauty, but strength of character and cultural pride, and expressed confidence that they would continue the legacy of representing the Northeast at international platforms.
The newly crowned winners will receive professional representation, advanced grooming, brand endorsements, public relations advisory, and national-level exposure. They will also be considered for international pageants and global fashion platforms, reinforcing the pageant’s track record of sending contestants to prestigious competitions abroad.
As the Title Sponsor, Sunsilk celebrated the individuality and confidence of the winners. The pageant was also backed under the Incredible India banner, highlighting the cultural richness and global potential of the Northeast.
Apart from the main crowns, several special awards were presented. Phurpa Drema from Arunachal Pradesh was honoured as Incredible India Mega Miss Tourism 2026. Sarah Malsawmtlungi from Mizoram won the Nilkamal Miss Popular title. Tenzing Choden Sherpa from Sikkim was also awarded Coca-Cola Miss Refreshing Beauty, while Sanu Kumari from Assam received the Sunsilk Sway Icon title.
The grand finale brought together fashion, performance, and a celebration of regional diversity, reaffirming Sunsilk Mega Miss North East as one of the most influential women-centric platforms in the region.
With Stella Rica Khongsni’s win, Meghalaya adds another proud achievement to its growing list of national and international representations in fashion and pageantry.
