SHILLONG, JAN 9:Khliehriat police arrested a drug peddler and seized suspected heroin during a targeted operation in East Jaintia Hills district on Friday.
Acting on credible intelligence, police intercepted a white Alto car (registration number ML06A 0621) near Mookympad village and apprehended 23-year-old Kheinkor Muliar, also known as Khein, who was driving the vehicle.
A thorough search conducted in the presence of independent witnesses led to the recovery of suspected heroin weighing 1.37 grams, along with syringes and other related items. Preliminary testing confirmed the seized substance to be heroin, police said.
The accused has been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
